Creality Ender 3D Printer: How Great Is It?

Why is the Ender 3D Printer so great? Well, for as long as I can remember, I have been figuring out ways to “engineer” a better life for me and my loved ones. I have a specific memory from 6th grade when I was walking into work with my mom and I turned to her and told her an invention idea I had. This joy of building a better world is what inspired me to get into 3d printing only 2 short years later.

Since the age of 13 I have been assembling 3d printers. My first printer was a Prusa I3 MK3. What a great printer to start with, besides the price point… OUCH!

A few months ago I saw that Micro Center was having a sale where their Ender-3 V2 printers were only $100! I immediately ran to Micro Center, then home to assemble my new printer.

I honestly thought that this printer would become a backup printer for my Prusa, but to my surprise, it performed really well!!!

I have been printing with my Ender-3 V2 for a few months and have barely encountered any issues, which is very impressive for a user built printer!

Here is a bit more info on the Ender-3 V2 you should know before printing.

Things we love about the Ender-3 V2:

  • Affordable price:
    • You really can’t beat $100 for this printer! Compared to the $1000+ printers out there, The Ender-3 V2 stacks up pretty well for the price!
  • Easy to assemble and use:
    • I wish that this was my first printer, as my experiences would have probably been a lot better, and easier than the trials I went through.
  • Produces high-quality prints:
    • The Ender-3 V2 offers amazing prints for the price. My only note is that the prints have a bit of a layer line on the back of some prints.
  • Quiet operation:
    • The Ender-3 V2 when operating isn’t any louder than the air purifier I have next to my printers. Im also able to sleep when the printer is on, which is a HUGE plus for the BF!
  • Glass build plate:
    • All of my past printers before the Ender-3 V2 have been magnetic build plates so it was a bit of a learning curve for me in this regard. I had issues in the beginning but came around to it and actually really like the glass build plate! The prints stick on the plate so well that I have to throw it in the freezer for a few minutes after printing to get the prints with a large base layer off without damage. While this might seem like a hassle, I actually prefer it since I know I can rely on the print staying in place for those long prints.
  • Easy settings:
    • The settings for preheating the printer as well as loading/unloading filament are much easier than most other printers that I have used, and are very user friendly.

Overall, the Ender-3 V2 is a great 3D printer for the price. It is a great choice for both beginners and experienced printers. I seriously LOVE this printer and use it most besides my Prusa I3 MK3, which will always have a special place in my heart. 1. It was not hard to assemble. Very minimal amount of work consisting of screws, and plugging wires in.
I would recommend this as a printer for beginners!
